This strand is focused on developing cutting-edge new tools, techniques and cohorts which will enrich data research and analysis. It consists of two core areas: Methodological Innovation and Historical Longitudinal Data.

In this project we aim to create a standing research resource based around the Scottish Mental Survey 1947 (SMS1947) along with associated linked datasets.

In this project we aim to enhance historical administrative data - the Scottish Historic Population Platform (SHiPP) and Scottish civil registration records from 1855 to 1973 - for research use.

This study aims to link CHI (Community Health Index) and UPRN (Unique Property Reference Number) to more precisely understand the context and environment in which people live, such as better understanding households.
