Summary

ADR Scotland and Research Data Scotland (RDS) are hosting a joint event ‘Doing Data Better for Policy and Public Good’ as part of Evidence Week in Holyrood 2022.

For the first time, Sense About Science, are delivering an online Evidence Week in Holyrood between 21-25 March 2022, bringing together Scottish parliamentarians, community groups and researchers to discuss evidence in policymaking on issues specific to Scotland.

ADR Scotland and Research Data Scotland (RDS) are joining together to deliver an exciting session: ‘Doing Data Better for Policy and Public Good’ on 22 March at 3pm, chaired by Roger Halliday, Chief Statistician.

This session will consider the power of data in evidence-based decision-making and how data linkage research can deliver insights and outcomes for policy. It will include a panel discussion on the opportunities and challenges of data research and the vast potential to address societal challenges for public good.

Whilst our session is primarily aimed at policymakers interested in how data research can be utilised to make a difference to policy, practice and society, we welcome members of the community who have an interest in using administrative data for public good to join us too.
