As we enter new phases of the pandemic, how can administrative data help us to better understand what’s happened and inform policy and practice in preparation for potential future waves?
The overall aim of this study is to assess the sociodemographic and health characteristics of those contracted Covid-19 and their associations with mortality and critical care admission as compared to the general population.
This project began through the research team’s involvement in advising Police Scotland and the Scottish Police Authority during the course of the Covid-19 pandemic.
A data report scrutinising Police Scotland’s use of the new temporary powers introduced to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic shows that less than seven percent of all interventions involved the use of enforcement, such as a fine or arrest.
