Dr Allison Kurpiel is a Research fellow in Criminology based in the School of Law at the University of Edinburgh. She conducts research in collaboration with Professor Susan McVie on the public health implications of policing and imprisonment. She received her PhD degree in criminology from the Pennsylvania State University (US) in 2023, where she conducted research on youth victimization, school violence, discriminatory bullying, courts and sentencing, and the interplay between child welfare and juvenile justice systems.
