A graduate of English Philology from Maria Curie-Sklodowska University, Renata started her career in higher education in 2007 at the University of Edinburgh, School of Informatics. She went on to work at the University of British Columbia, Queen Mary University London, and Imperial College London before returning to Edinburgh in 2022 to assume a role of SCADR Executive Manager.
